A New Ghetto Building

A New Ghetto Building

By

James Bredin

The mother of the unwed mother was an unwed mother,
They only knew the ghetto type lifestyle and no other,
Where no one ever went to work though some went to school,
It was a place where social welfare types ruled.

They want to build many more buildings for single moms,
For them and their ghetto kids who turn into gang bums,
So they bussed some moms to a public meeting so discreet,
They would surely favour the socialist agenda complete.

But some moms didn’t want any more ghetto stuff,
Drug infested crime ridden killing gang bang enough,
Dangerous disastrous treacherous place to live,
Murdered members by the score not easy to forgive.

Because forty years ago they build square blocks high as the sky,
Filled them with baby makers though this they deny,
Hired social workers by the score to run the show,
Hired maintenance – no husbands needed to shovel snow.

Gave single moms status better than those who were married,
Welfare cheque, apartment, hydro, parking and never harried,
Why bother to find a husband among the many men?
But fatherless boys formed gun gangs amid this mayhem.

Add pompous politicians who just love this stuff,
Want more single mothers ‘cause they can’t get enough,
Send far away over there in order to get more,
While the people plead for tax relief and they’re ignored.

An Appointment to High Places

An Appointment to High Places

By

James Bredin

Toronto based economic consultants by the score,
Advisors to phony pious politicians galore,
Appointed to advisory groups to give advice,
No wonder Toronto is overtaxed and overpriced?

I want to be appointed to some Advisory Board,
Then I’ll know for sure that I’ve really scored,
Because like other appointees I can just pretend,
Their communist ideas are so easy to defend.

And socialist politicians will call me an expert,
Look around and watch for those who are easy to convert,
Phoney title in front of and letters after my name,
And everyone will have to listen to what I proclaim.

I could go on TV and say I want to help the poor,
Maybe send some soldiers over to help those in Darfur,
Proclaim that street people wouldn’t steal a thing,
Nor would panhandlers or drug addicts flying on one wing.

Open the prison gates and let the prisoners out,
Cops put their Charter Rights and human rights in doubt,
I could travel the world and use any excuse I like,
March in the gay parade dressed up like a dyke.

Da Vinci Code and the Bible

Da Vinci Code and the Bible

By

James Bredin

Who has the correct version of the bible these days?
Who wrote it, in what language and why the nightmare?
And does it matter or does anyone really care?
Are those who saw Da Vinci Code movie in despair?

Was Mary Magdalene a hooker or did they malign?
Did they change that claim back in nineteen sixty nine?
And if they changed things; how much more did they change?
How much of the bible is fiction and how much was arranged?

Which version is true because I’m very concerned?
Battles were fought about this and many martyrs burned,
Could this changed bible issue be much bigger than it seems?
The Holy See has never condoned Gnostic regimes.

Did someone say they were going to burn that book?
Inquisition reorganized to investigate and look,
It’s the Internet that caused it – too much secular stuff,
Women want to be priests now and the church has had enough.

The congregation doesn’t go to church much any more,
Is it the pedophile priests we hear about by the score?
Is this good or is it bad; should we be happy or sad?
Should we send missionaries to Darfur and Chad?

Political Appointments

Political Appointments

By

James Bredin

Soft-on-crime appointees can’t see the phrases on the wall,
Allowed prisoners to vote with lots of free phone calls,
They never met a dangerous criminal they didn’t like,
Tell homeless panhandlers with AIDS to do what they like.

And they love all the terrorist refugees they can find,
Seldom deport them which has left us in a bind,
And those who carry guns sometimes get a slap on the wrist,
Some system as they stand and salute with a clinched fist.

You may be the victim of these goody-two-shoe ways,
Appointees never admit this till the end of their days,
Same soft headed types seem to have a hidden agenda,
Leave you buried in the soup of pompous propaganda.

Send someone to Africa for more refugees,
More unwed mothers with kids who are sick please,
And send our tax dollars to dictators over there,
To build up their Swiss bank account which they never declare.

And then you might ask if we are mentally ill?
Toronto based journalists who should take a pill,
Advise public sector appointees about money,
If this wasn’t so serious, it could be funny.

Socialist Newspapers

Socialist Newspapers

By

James Bredin

Newspapers written by special-interest socialist types,
Daily propaganda pumped out in their agenda hypes,
Fear mongering about global warming and UN stuff,
The end of the world could come and we haven’t done enough.

These days its global warming and global human rights,
On the other side of the world in the middle of the night,
Far away over there but they want us all involved,
And that AIDS crisis over there has got to be solved.

As though the weight of these problems is on our shoulders,
We should read their papers and accept their orders,
Send billions to remote dictators way over there,
And at the UN they’ll say that we’re a major player.

We’re so lucky that they are on hand to give us advice,
And their left wing journalists seem so very precise,
Liberal to the core, they love their politicians,
Little commissars pushing communist conditions.

Democracy, Death, the UN and You

Just Passing Through

By

James Bredin

We are all locked in time together just passing through,
The rich, the poor, the strong, the dour even those with tattoos,
The pompous, the pious, some still searching for a prophet,
Still others are on the side trying to make a profit.

We are all very equal in that we are bound to die,
Regardless of our religions that some still deny,
The powerful and powerless are the same when it’s over,
But how to improve things before we’re pushing up clover?

Democracy might work except it’s what dictator hate,
They want to stay in power and never never debate,
Though the United Nations tends to cater to this group,
While the rest of the world is left out of their loop.

It doesn’t matter the size or shape of your tomb,
There is no coming back to admire it or resume,
Even clever dictators will eventually die,
Democracy may be nice but how do we apply?

If the UN cannot change things, should they be shut down?
Like Saddam’s oil-for-food scandal – no longer around,
Global taxation introduced in the Kyoto Accord,
Send money to dictators and democracy ignored.

Da Vinci Code

Da Vinci Code

What’s this all about in that book Da Vinci Code?
Has it caused such a change in our subservient mode?
Especially women; present at the church’s foundation,
Those same still denied the sacrament of ordination.

Has the power of the Church been dragged into question?
Once the inquisition would have stopped this suggestion,
Because only those who have the faith, know the truth,
The remainder is fictional secularism and uncouth.

Did someone change the early gospels way back then?
Additions, deletions, changed or buried by pen,
No known Gnostic stuff and what did Constantine change?
Was Jesus and Mary Magdalene an item rearranged?

They said Mary Magdalene was a hooker at that time,
Then they changed their minds back in nineteen sixty nine,
More altered additions and deletions to behold,
What’s right; what’s wrong and what else should we be told?

Who are they who question the foundations of the faith?
What changes were hidden in the gospels in those dates?
Can’t question the celibacy of pompous priests,
A job where women are not allowed by the prince of peace.

And those Gnostic guys, they say got it completely wrong,
Booted out of the Church because they didn’t belong,
Secularism, feminism and Internet today,
Causing sacrilegious problems that won’t go away.

Nuclear Nerds

Arrogance of Nuclear Nerds and Politicians

By

James Bredin

Sometimes they scream that our Candu reactors are safe,
But don’t ask too many questions and no debate,
They want you to believe their government propaganda,
So there’s no need to ask questions about their agenda.

And wind power is a maybe because they have decided,
What if we had a calm day and the winds subsided?
And who are you to ask questions about technical stuff?
This interview is finished because we’ve had enough.

Dishonorable Ontario politicians and ignoble,
Is it possible they learned nothing from Chernobyl?
While nuclear nerds like to talk high tech kilowatt hours,
Can’t mention Three Mile Island or wind towers.

Dalton is going to phase out the coal burning plants,
As usual he is flying by the seat of his pants,
Tax and spend like mad amid stupid nuclear decisions,
No recall, no referendums and no revisions.

We don’t need much power they say in Kyoto Accord,
Because of adscam Liberal decisions and reward,
But why were Bruce 1 and Pickering A closed down
Was it heat, cold, radiation or should we stick around?

Walk away from the United Nations

Walk Away from the United Nations

By

James Bredin

Is it possible to close down the United Nations?
Propaganda allegations and accusations,
Couldn’t stop Saddam’s oil for food sad scandal,
Can’t stop bomb terrorists who are so suicidal.

Representatives from Africa wall to wall,
From every national hovel no matter how small,
Places that have wars and famines on a daily basis,
To suggest a change could get you called a racist.

The auditor’s second interim report stopped in its tracks,
Evidence gone through the shredder so the UN can relax,
And just like sad sack Saddam’s oil for food scam,
No one at the UN seems to know or give a damn.

This organization pushed the Kyoto regime,
Hidden global taxation and it’s a UN dream,
Smoke screen here, delays there, corruption up to the neck,
Americans and Australians not in, if you care to check.

Immunity benefits, salaries and legal fees paid,
There’s no reason for this clique to ever be afraid,
Add to that the fact that whistle blowers get the shaft,
Banished, exiled, replaced, sent away and laughed at.

The greatest ripoff in the history of mankind,
And many representatives pretend that they are blind,
Bound down by their politically-correct strife,
Trapped by a clique who conspire to stay for life.

Peacekeepers in an AIDS infected place

Peacekeepers in an AIDS infected place

By

James Bredin

Conspiracies of silence and indifference out there,
Hammered in by reality genocide and despair,
As international goody-two-shoe socialists howl,
African Union troops in Darfur have thrown in the towel.

Left-wing newspapers show the pictures every day,
The dead, the dying, the starving kids on display,
Places that are all members of the United Nations,
Still they point the finger and make more accusations.

As Sudan spirals downwards all the way to hell,
And in Darfur the dead bodies can cause an awful smell,
Where the history of their peace agreements mean nil
Though they live on humanitarian aid or starve still.

Does all this stuff make sense at the United Nations?
Where they say they don’t want help but send large $donations,
Activists, petitions and marches and names wall to wall,
Want atrocities stopped when they march, scream and call.

But why send peacekeepers to an AIDS infected place,
Could this epidemic come home and slap us in the face?
But our goody-two-shoe politicians want to fix the world,
With their big UN peacekeeping flags unfurled.

I apologize if this has caused you to think,
That indeed this might be the next UN agenda stink,
No mention of the Saddam Oil for food scandal these days,
Or reference to the African Union peacekeeper phase.

Darfur

Darfur

By

James Bredin

Sadness beyond sadness, enough to break your heart,
Massacre after massacre and that’s just how they start,
Where the body count is meaningless as the world looks on,
And African Union troops are either missing or gone.

Places there in Africa where they must be out to lunch,
How else could you explain that homicidal bunch?
Terror, warlords, AIDS, famine, death and destruction,
Colonialism at its worst never had this construction.

The madness of Mogadishu in a tropical storm,
Failed state where intimidation is the norm,
Abduction, slaughter, rape and assassination,
And this is accepted as a normal UN nation.

International left-wing socialists telling us to go,
To Darfur with armed soldiers and bring lots of dough,
Because African Union soldiers don’t seem to know how,
And as an afterthought; get out of Afghanistan now.

Toront Political Dreams and Schemes

Toronto Political Dreams and Schemes

By

James Bredin

The gun problem didn’t happen suddenly overnight,
Started about the time of Trudeau’s Charter of Rights,
Fatherless babies arrived on welfare by the score,
Each increased unwed mother’s benefits galore.

Where fathers are not needed and a drag on their schemes,
Could interfere with unwed mothers’ lifelong dreams,
Free apartment, hydro and parking with her many friends,
Some of whom have fatherless babies in the tens.

Troubled teens they call them as if they were alright,
Those who rob, rape, steal or kill anything in sight,
They can’t even be identified and that’s a fact,
Because of the crazy Youth Criminal Justice Act.

You can’t ask questions directly about these choices,
They are part of the charade and the helpless voices,
The farce of democracy gone mad but hidden from display,
Socialist appointees make decisions every day.

No common sense revolution ever allowed here,
Not in the ghetto, where reality is mixed with fear,
Add the soft system where so few go to jail,
Fatherless boys’ status improves after getting bail.

Then add guns and drugs and a sub culture of gangs,
That noise in the night is the gunshots going bang,
At what point do you think, that we should think about change?
But how to shake the status quo and rearrange?

Add soft politicians, homeless, panhandlers and hookers,
Half a mile thump thump from cars of the onlookers,
And if you say something you might be shot – that’s all,
No hanging, no justice, no referendums or recall.

Next Mayor of Toronto

By

James Bredin

We need someone for mayor, who can clean up the mess,
Of street people and panhandlers who demand more -- not less,
They somehow got the message that they can take control,
To steal, beg, borrow and rob and always get parole.

The mayor looked around and thought he had a consensus,
Asked for volunteers to count homeless for a census,
Got a report from Social Service and liked what he saw,
Socialism and communism and never withdraw.

A committee of appointees to oversee it all,
Encourage complaints against the cops and the law,
Planned pompous programs, hostels, shelters and drop-ins,
And those who think different are obviously has-beens.

With welfare organization tentacles everywhere,
Wall to wall agencies and organizations with day care,
The welfare way of life is now considered elite,
Therefore there’s no need for panhandlers to be discreet.

Every weasel organization that frequents out there,
Scream they’re marginalized diversified but fair,
Well hidden in the agenda of friends at City Hall,
Need ten-year terms without referendums or recall.

UN, Guns, Climate, Disease and You

UN, Guns, Climate, Disease and You

By

James Bredin

About this forthcoming climate change; should we dig a hole?
Await Kyoto instructions or have they lost control?
Because the seas might rise and the lakes might fall,
Should we stay up all night and remain on call?

Americans and Australians refused to be involved,
Because they know that nothing is going to be solved,
And you and I will fix the problems over there,
Increased taxes for dictators on a wing and a prayer.

While they kill each other with K47s they buy,
With the money we send them and there’s no need to lie,
And their secret Swiss bank accounts will also jump,
Just pay your high taxes you obedient chump.

They also want our soldiers and no hysteria please,
With starvation, AIDS, TB, typhus and malaria fleas,
Are our troops immune to all these strange conditions?
Whose side are we on – dictatorial politicians?

Which religious group should we go and defend?
Which pompous dictator should we call a friend?
Should we just tell them that our intentions are good?
And none of this fighting and killing is understood.

And at the United Nations, they can do no wrong,
That Saddam oil-for-food scandal -- shredded and long gone,
And that Second Interim Report must have been a lie,
The UN is eternal and there’s no need to deny.

Dearest Dummy Dalton

Dearest Dummy Dalton

By

James Bredin

Figure out the worst decision a premier could make,
That’s the decision that Dalton McGinty will take,
And eventually he might decide to have a debate,
But by the time they sit down it’s already too late.

Which is just as well because he can’t do it right,
Tax and spend and travel and avoid political fight,
And the people of Ontario will learn the hard way,
No recall or referendums but higher taxes they pay.

Think of the most stupid thing a politician could do,
Then think Ontario Liberals and you might have a clue,
The Guinness Book of Records should be on hand,
But nobody would believe it or understand.

I can’t go into detail; it’s too stupid and involved,
Nothing, absolutely nothing has ever been solved,
Don’t ever dare or try to ask one of them a question,
The answer will send you down into deep depression.

Peacekeepers everywhere

Peacekeepers here, There, Everywhere

By

James Bredin

Should we send peacekeepers to a sick epidemic place?
To do good for the UN or another human race,
That has AIDS malaria, cholera and TB,
It’s such a righteous thing to do, we all agree.

And African dictators say they need this assistance,
Need some rebel heretics killed for resistance,
While their Swiss bank accounts jump by leaps and bounds,
Could these terrible events be as crazy as they sound?

Could our soldiers catch malaria cholera or AIDS?
Bring them back like unexploded hand grenades,
Could they pass these diseases on to other people like you?
Is this supposition, superstition or true?

Did it happen to UN peacekeepers somewhere before?
Is this known or has the UN decided to ignore?
Like the Saddam-oil-for-food scandal swept under the rug,
Are we all on some UN hallucinogenic drug?

Change the Constitution

Change the Constitution

By

James Bredin

In Ontario we have politicians that lie,
And lie about the lies and refuse to say good bye,
Who tax and spend like mad men and cannot be recalled,
Even at this very suggestion they are all appalled.

So we need to change the constitution and soon,
Not in five years time on some summer’s afternoon,
By next week or the week after that, without a doubt,
To show them that in democracy, we have the clout.

Because they have their secret hidden agendas,
We need referenda to get them off their verandas,
We need recall in order to tell them where to go,
Which with enough signatures they should get to know.

That they cannot stay at Queen’s Park for their whole life,
We should not be viewed like a compliant obedient wife,
We should not have to wait for a distant election date,
Democracy is now – not a far away debate.

Toronto the Good Maybe

Toronto the Good Maybe

By

James Bredin

Toronto is “relatively” safe, politicians say,
Amid the constant sound of gun shots night and day,
Per capita murder rate is down according to stats,
The others all nodded those obedient bureaucrats.

It’s the lack of proper programs at public expense,
Especially for fatherless boys and it makes so much sense,
Where single mothers on welfare are the norm,
This problem can be solved and everyone reformed.

In their hi rise ghettos with strange drawings on the wall,
Maybe a pompous program of midnight basketball,
And fatherless boys will change and suddenly see the light,
That socialist communist politicians are right.

These politicians don’t have a hidden agenda,
Count the homeless panhandlers for propaganda,
They only want to tax and spend and travel for life,
Pamper fatherless boys carrying a gun or a knife.

Can’t put them in jail because the justice system is soft,
And their legal aid lawyers have so often scoffed,
The system is at fault and it should be changed,
More midnight basketball for these boys should be arranged.

Release all the prisoners before the next election,
So they will vote for the proper socialist selection,
But why bother; they can all still do that in jail,
Proof that pompous socialist politicians prevail.

The Gang Member

The Gang Member

By

James Bredin

He grew up in a large ghetto of single mothers,
Fatherless boy with at least a thousand others,
Joined a large gang so that he could be strong and belong,
Because they were special above the ordinary throng.

In a jungle of socialist programs all on welfare,
That most ordinary people were hardly aware,
Where no one ever had a job or went to work,
It was fatherless babies increased welfare, you jerk.

Where the sound of gunshots could be frequently heard,
It meant nothing except to an outside officious nerd,
Because this is where his friends, the gang guys rule,
No photo ops here because it’s not safe or cool.

And now those cops want to catch him and send him to jail,
For killing three people so he can’t get no bail,
It’s not the cops he fears so much as the other gang,
He stood up for his own when his gun went bang bang.

And now he has respect and they pay attention to him,
Many single-mother girlfriends obey his every whim,
And cops can’t prove a thing because dead guys don’t talk,
Soft justice system and a lawyer and he just might walk.

Read the Instructions

The Instructions

By

James Bredin

Have you read the instructions that were not written well?
Translated from Chinese to Urdu to English to sell,
On hidden parchment that looked like a Dead Sea scroll,
Hope you got it all right and didn’t loose control.

Though you read it twenty times, it made no sense,
It cost you fifty nine dollars and ninety seven cents,
Plus GST plus PST which put you back even more,
Should you bring it back again and holler and roar?

Add piece A to piece C and the other addition,
And you thought this was such a unique acquisition,
And now you’re sitting there looking stupid and dense,
Root canal without anaesthesia might have made more sense.
