Another UN Kyoto cock-up

Another UN Kyoto cock-up

By

James Bredin

Should we thank Jean Chretien for our Kyoto cock-up?
And will Kyoto result in our taxes going up?
Mandatory commitment with jobs lost and why?
As UN environmentalists look down from the sky.

Because Americans and Australians are not in,
China and India excused so for them it’s win win,
When will Canadians say we’re had enough?
When will UN politicians stop strutting their stuff?

Who is pulling the strings and have we all gone mad?
When is the sky going to fall and is this very sad?
As we march in lock step to the beat of the UN drum,
Where went our pride and when did we succumb?

Why does so little of this seem to make sense?
Why are we afraid that we might cause offence?
Will our federal politicians develop back bone?
Or will they hedge their bets again and try to postpone?

Toronto Tantrums

Toronto Tantrums

By

James Bredin

Why is Toronto cursed with politicians from hell?
We have not had a decent one since Lastman Mel,
Why are our extortionate taxes climbing towards the sky?
Why can’t we recall them instead of just asking why?

They take a stand on every left-wing issue and cause,
Can’t have a bridge to the island just because,
And no transportation to the airport so walk,
As their little communist committees sit and talk.

They’re going to tear down Regent Park and build it again,
Call it a different name so this is a win win,
‘Cause when they change the ghetto name, the stigma is gone,
They’ll tax, travel, spend, double their wages again and yawn.

And they cannot be recalled so they’re there for life,
With socialist cult followers like an obedient wife,
As the city heads towards bankruptcy and we wonder why,
Blame the feds for all their socialist pies in the sky.

Official Adscam Liberal Leadership Race

Official Adscam Liberal Leadership Race

Adscam Liberals are now in the penalty box,
Like a rusty old truck out back up on blocks,
Where Liberal leadership candidates are all coy,
About their leadership and who they would employ.

Deny they’re in disarray, hysteria or disorder,
Looking for a journalist with a cassette recorder,
Talking to their cell phones trying to sound grand,
Trying to look important, like when they were still in command.

Testing the waters with their caucus colleagues and friends,
Ear to the ground trying to pick up on any new trends,
Trying to gauge their chances of success at meetings,
E-mails and telephone calls amid the cautious greetings.

Loyalty to this or that and others is essential,
Manoeuvring for position, power and potential,
As they each deny that they have finalized their plans,
As they look around the rooms with their radar scans.

Speeches stressing the need for renewal of the party,
Emphasizing that they are really honest and hearty,
And that adscam stuff was all just yesterday’s news,
Don’t talk about it, don’t mention it and don’t confuse.

While we the people have nothing to do with the results,
Could be a witch, a wizard or a dictator in a cult,
Could be a feminist, gay or an abortionist doctor,
And recall is not allowed by any pompous proctor.

The French

The French

By

James Bredin

The French have better riots and weather than us,
With snow up to our knees, we’re more inclined to discuss,
Sorbonne students and others carry signs over there,
Tear gas and burning cars on a wing and a prayer.

They used to use a guillotine to emphasize their cause,
Held up severed heads while the crowd gave applause,
But these days, they’ve changed their ways and burn cars instead,
Some get arrested though others may end up dead.

It sounds very exciting but they all speak French,
Looking around for a politician to lynch,
But not being bilingual there’s no chance to get involved,
But what a way for political problems to be solved.

These days they’re upset because they might loose their jobs,
Crowds go out to demonstrate and then become mobs,
Sounds very exciting, at least from a distance,
Are they having fun and do they need assistance?

The New Kyoto Rule Book

The New Kyoto Rule Book

By

James Bredin

The new Kyoto religious rule book is not strange,
The result of UN framework on climate change,
You will have to read it and our problems will be solved,
Though the Americans and Australians are not involved.

And India and China are allowed to walk free,
They’re considered developing nations, you see,
If your factory makes emissions and they’re told to stop,
They might move to China while your job gets the chop.

The seas could rise tomorrow and the sky might fall,
Small islands could disappear and leave nothing at all,
Therefore mandatory commitment from politicians,
And your total dedication regardless of conditions.

And your taxes might double for the climate change fund,
They need money and you’ll be overtaxed and stunned,
It’s for your own good though, to stop all this climate change,
Laid out in the new rule book and it’s all pre arranged.

Caged carbon $credits for Swiss-account dictators,
You will agree or be listed with other traitors,
And you probably think that none of this is true,
Please wake up because this is about to debut.

They need a spiritual commitment on you part,
Total dedication – body, soul, mind and heart,
Americans and Australians can sit back and look on,
Chretien trapped us on this board like a pompous little pawn.

The New Religion

The New Religion

By

James Bredin

The new religion of the socialist left has arrived,
Kyoto Accord they dreamt up and contrived,
The Americans and Australians are not in,
Still environmentalists think that this is a win win.

China and India have both been excused,
New religious nuts are not in the least bit amused,
Kyoto protocol international religion soon,
They want us all to join, maybe before June.

Their climate change conferences are always a success,
To impress us all that we are in great distress,
And unless we join up the world could come to an end,
But their religion can save us if you comprehend.

Americans refused the mandatory ceilings,
Left the environmentalists shattered and reeling,
But they hid all this plus our added global taxes,
Closed-door sessions and no outgoing faxes.

No referendums allowed because it’s a done deal,
Those who are in, are in because of religious appeal,
And we the people like a herd of sheep follow along,
Without referendums in lock step like we all belong.

Goody-two-shoe environmentalists will guide the way,
No need to mention the global taxes we’ll pay,
To help Swiss-account dictators somewhere over there,
In UN developing countries without delay.

While their journalists disguise their true agenda,
Gobbledegook words, wall to wall propaganda,
They’ve written a book of rules like any new religion,
We’ll obey these rules like any well trained pigeon.

Fair Political Representation

Fair Political Representation

By

James Bredin

Proportional representation is not allowed,
Not for our subservient Canadian crowd,
Our first-past-the-post system will have to stay,
And if you don’t like it, you can just move away.

Nor will referendums on certain issues be approved,
Those who make the decisions will not be moved,
As we pretend we’re in representative democracy,
And bow our heads to political aristocracy.

Because the system has to stay and cannot be changed,
Peculiar adscam accountability arranged,
But fair representation is what the people want,
Not bureaucratic nudging of the nerdy nonchalant.

Politicians moved issues to their appointed High Court,
To circumvent debate and get the decisions they support,
But cannot see that the system itself needs to be changed,
Proportional representation and referendums arranged.

The interests of minorities and women out front,
I can almost hear the loud political groans and grunt,
But democracy itself should never be easy,
Because what we have now is both easy and sleazy.

Kyoto Donations -- Global Taxation

Kyoto Donations Global Taxation

By

James Bredin

Kyoto climate change is coming, starting next week,
Conspiracy of the crooked to dominate the meek,
We could burn from the heat or drown in the flood,
Hurricanes and property damage could turn us to mud.

Kyoto chaotic bureaucratic boondoggle stuff,
Which for adscam Chretien Liberals was never enough,
The next oil-for-food scandal but on a grander scale,
Hidden global Kyoto taxation fees will prevail.

Did a change in government mean anything at all?
Locked into this outlandish Kyoto Accord,
Taxed to the eyes and they couldn’t care less,
Plus GST which they won’t change or confess.

The Americans and Australians are not involved,
China and India excused and absolved,
But Canadians up to our necks in this UN stuff,
Tax and spend politicians deny that it’s rough.

They’ve got the graphs with lines pointing up to the roof,
Pump their propaganda on the Internet as proof,
Because mass extinctions happened many times before,
Therefore this is something you cannot just ignore.

And no one is allowed to dispute what we’ve been told,
Or talk about the bill of goods that we’ve been sold,
Pollution credit dollars to Swiss-account dictators,
And those who say it’s crooked cannot be debaters.

They’re going to meet again this year in Bonn,
To nail it down and make sure we don’t know what’s really on,
That our taxes could double or triple or more,
As we sit around and dream and don’t know the score.

Leadership of the Liberal Party

Leadership of the Liberal Party

By

James Bredin

I think I’ll run for Liberal leadership just for sport,
But how do I get this adscam crowd on side for support?
Apparently these Liberals have now changed the rules,
Don’t need to be bilingual like previous pompous fools.

I have no Liberal connections to their adscam past,
Judge Gomery doesn’t know me so it should be a blast,
I can claim to be socialist and love Chretien’s Charter,
Which means nothing but I never said I was smarter.

But leadership candidates need a lot of money,
I can’t figure why and I don’t think it’s funny,
I could claim to know Bono, the Irish rock star,
I realize of course this is getting quite bizarre.

And if I won, we’d be out of the Kyoto Accord,
Away from that UN international socialist horde,
Before it becomes another oil-for-food scandal,
Where evidence disappears like a Roman candle.

This, of course, is not what adscam Liberals want,
“You’re not a socialist communist,” they might taunt,
“I one voted for Mike Harris,” I could shout,
But then they would call the cops and throw me out.

Canadians: we are in it up to our necks

Canadians: We are in it up to our necks

By

James Bredin

Saddam’s UN oil for food scandal has receded a bit,
Shredders shred the evidence down in a deep pit,
Or deleted it in cyberspace so it is gone,
Ideas of criminal charges had to be withdrawn.

But it’s still there, right and left, on the Internet,
Lists of where billions went so we can’t forget,
The greatest rip-off in the history of mankind,
Billions of dollars and Swiss marks reassigned.

Is the UN so big that it’s completely isolated?
Can’t criminal charges be pushed or even debated?
Can all these corrupt crooks all walk free as the birds?
Can’t we rock the boat because this is what they preferred?

And then they push Kyoto to impose global taxes,
Conspirators conspire by their cell phones and faxes,
Call it global warming and developing nations,
Their Swiss bank accounts improve with no complications.

But Americans and Australians will not be amused,
Nor India or China but the rest of us are confused,
And as Canadians we are up to our necks in this stuff,
Adscam Liberal corruption was never enough.

Prime Minister Harper playing his cards close to his chest,
He may have fooled some but I’m not too impressed,
Dump Kyoto before we sink in taxation mud,
Or like Joe Clark, it could end with a thud.

Global Taxation coming your way

Global Taxation coming your way

By

James Bredin

Secret global taxation is coming your way,
In the form of Kyoto fees maybe by next May,
Complements of Martin/Chretien and UN friends,
Tax and spend do-gooders following UN trends.

You will of course be told that this is for your own good,
Help poor developing nations out of the woods,
As dictator Swiss bank accounts jump by leaps and bounds,
In Euros, Swiss franks, Canadian dollars or pounds.

Because global warming could easily boil us all,
The Arctic is melting fast and the sky might fall,
India and China have all been excused,
The US and Australia not involved though we’re confused.

And as Canadians, we are in it up to our necks,
No referendums and no one knows or even checks,
Goody-two-shoe politicians think this is great,
And this is not allowed to come up for debate.

Kyoto Donations Over There

Kyoto Donations over there

By

James Bredin

Should we worry about dictators over there?
It’s not our business though it may not seem very fair,
As they arrest their doubtful dissidents now and then,
And they do it to shut them up again and again.

Dictators then meet at the UN to talk about aid,
Want to receive Kyoto donations and not be afraid,
Though the Americans and Australians all backed out,
Overtaxed Canadians will soon find what this is about.

That is if Stephen Harper doesn’t change his mind,
To make us responsible for most of mankind,
Though India and China have all been excused,
Our pompous politicians find us easy to confuse.

Because the ice cap is melting and we may end up dead,
We have to obey UN rules just to stay ahead,
Forget their oil-for-food scandal that they hid so well,
Paper shredders day and night; not so easy to tell.

A bureaucratic bungle in the guise of climate change,
Assist developing nations; the UN will arrange,
Global warming tied to Kyoto global taxation,
Can’t call it global taxes; it’s called a donation.

Euthanasia

Euthanasia it’s called

By

James Bredin

The day may come when I’m very old and barely alive,
Preferably when I’m more than a hundred and five,
And I want to arrange to die among my friends,
It may be legal by then… it all depends.

Arrange to die with dignity and then just check out,
Everything arranged so there will be no doubt,
Throw a big party with booze and coffin standing by,
Music and singing and then a final good bye.

Have someone there to make sure I’m really dead,
Then off to the cemetery with the shiny hearse ahead,
Then down in a hole which has already been dug,
In there for eternity feeling a bit snug.

Euthanasia it’s called; maybe popular by then,
Have a piper playing and someone shout amen,
No need for lawyers or priests because it’s all arranged,
Time may come when these ideas are not so strange.

Priestly faggots and fairies

Priestly Faggots and Fairies

By

James Bredin

Church racked by homosexual scandal abuse,
International proportions, so there is no excuse,
By those forbidden to have a girlfriend or a wife,
To kick up a fuss about their celibate type life.

Heterosexual priests should all go and get married,
Have a big bunch of kids before they die and get buried,
If homosexuals and pedophiles can all walk free,
If enough priests get married, the pope will agree.

I’m sorry if this disturbs what has long been the norm,
That a priest might think in an independent form,
I apologize to the pope and those cardinal guys,
My idea might seem a bit strange but it could be wise.

I know these revolutionary sins are forbidden,
But centuries of pedophile stuff was always well hidden,
In a celibate job for the past eight hundred years,
That attracted a large amount of pedophiles and queers.

Save you from Purgatory and Hell

Save you from Purgatory and Hell

By

James Bredin

A touchy subject when the truth finally came out,
Shameful and difficult to tolerate what it’s about,
And scandal stuff stashed and swept secretly under the rug,
Only whispered about in the dark back of a pub,

And what’s the motivation to live their celibate life?
Why pedophile homosexuals don’t want a wife?
These scandals never spoken by priests or holy nuns,
Who always walked on water and still teach your sons.

They’re going to sell church property to pay legal bills,
This in a church that forbids contraceptive pills,
Where pedophile priests were allowed to walk free,
Screamed vestment clad sermon straight at you and me.

But everything is positive; you can’t change a thing,
And the holy church is not flying on one wing,
Pompous priests and bishops are all doing quite well,
They’re going to keep you from purgatory and hell.

Conservative History Repeats Itself

Conservative History Repeats Itself

By

James Bredin

God forbid that Stephen Harper has changed his tune,
Especially on Kyoto – global warming soon -- by noon,
He should remember Joe Clark and his two hundred days,
And I’m already counting – let me count the ways.

We don’t need some carbon-copy Liberal up there,
Taxing, spending traveling on a wing and a prayer,
We just demoted that adscam corrupt bunch,
Why am I getting bad vibes or is this just a hunch?

Why should I feel I’m being kept in the dark?
Am I just another right-wing nut voting mark?
Is that the ghost of the Liberals still at the helm?
Soon back in office at the head of the realm.

Helena was pretty back then

Helena was Pretty back then

By

James Bredin

I didn’t know her name back then but I know it now,
Pretty as a picture and most guys went, “Wow!”
Whatever her name, she was gorgeous and young,
She worked in a downtown store close to Queen and Yonge.

I was only one of that youthful admiring gang,
Nothing much on my mind but cars, girls and poontang,
She mesmerized those of us who ever saw her face,
Her statuesque poise, her elegance and her grace.

But something told me and I don’t know how or why,
She was not interested in any particular guy,
So like an unsolved puzzle, she crisscrossed my life,
Was she religious; was she single or someone’s wife?

I watched her now and then, here and there, through the years,
On subway, streetcar; never talked and disappeared,
And the years seemed to slip by in fives, tens and twenties,
Plus she changed, got very old and showed her age plenty.

No one could have guessed that she was once young and pretty,
Ugly and bent old crone looked like she needed pity,
Maybe I change too but this I can’t recall,
Sitting with many memories on a bench in the mall.

The picture in today’s paper showed a beautiful young face,
Fashionable curls of those times with elegance and grace,
The obituary column said Helena had died,
Finally her name which her death had to provide.

Helena it said, died at eighty two among friends,
Should I go to her funeral to see who attends?
Should I have talked to her long ago before she got old?
Too late now as I sit and watch the world unfold.

The Priest

The Priest

By

James Bredin

I hear you’re a priest now and you’ve said your first mass,
And they won’t let you marry that beautiful young lass,
Your celibate lifestyle does not seem normal to me,
No wife, no girlfriend among some as queer as could be.

Because these days, things are not like they were long ago,
When priests walked on water on a very high plateau,
Something happened somehow somewhere along the way,
When people read the percentage of priests who were gay.

When pedophile cases hit the front page every day,
And the Church paid their defence every step of the way,
Of course I know it’s not you but I’m not so sure,
The Pope didn’t fire them all so they stay obscure.

If you had a wife and kids, we might be more level,
Less priestly homosexual consort with the devil,
I would hate being preached to by a pedophile type,
Dressed up in white vestments giving me the hype.

I have this quandary about going to confession,
To someone I don’t know, pardon the expression,
No wife, no kids, in a peculiar celibate lifestyle,
Could be a pedophile pretending all the while.

Toronto Troubles

Toronto Troubles
By

James Bredin

Some politicians want to stay at City Hall for life,
And if they can’t, it’s the Commission for Human Rights,
At least their terms should be extended by ten years,
Or until the Leafs win the Stanley Cup, it appears.

Secretly doubled salary and maybe hockey tickets too,
Stopped a bridge to the island without one clue,
No need for referendums when they make all decisions,
And if things need to change they might make some revisions.

And the premier of Ontario will of course agree,
His gang too not noted for intelligence of any degree,
As they continue to send all garbage to the States,
No need for cellphone law, landfills or open debates.

How dare you even question any of their ethics,
You’re allowed to sit back and admire their aesthetics,
How dare you point a finger and say things should change,
How dare you even think that any of this is strange.

No Cell Phone Law in Ontario

No Cell Phone Law in Ontario

By

James Bredin

Putting on her makeup with a baby on her breast,
Talking on her cell phone and just a little stressed,
As she makes a left turn in heavy traffic at the lights,
Enroute to the left wing Commission for Human Rights.

Politically correct and self righteous to a flaw,
No way they’re going to change the cell-phone law,
Ontario politicians seldom do it right,
Why should they start now and give us all a fright?

As they tax and spend more and travel the globe,
Talk to each other on cell phones and avoid any probe,
Political place where it pays to be brain dead,
No one knows a book that any of them ever read.

Every now and then they make a proclamation,
Cell phone laws don’t change and no need for an explanation,
As they put the province in debt right up to our ears,
Even worse than Bob Rae so we have lots of fears.

The United Nations Roman Empire

The United Nations Roman Empire

By

James Bredin

There was a time when we thought the UN might do some good,
Before oil-for-food scandal that no one understood,
Before the paper shredders buried all the proof,
Made he who searched for evidence look like a goof.

Smoke screen up and down, here and there and everywhere,
Who were the co conspirators in this wild affair?
The auditors were all completely stopped in their tracks,
No paper, no data, no criminal charges or facts.

The greatest rip-off in the history of mankind,
Numbers in the billions that would blow your mind,
Secretly hidden and deleted in cyber space,
There was no evidence so there is no disgrace.

The report said it happened in two double O four,
This second report they wrote while going out the door,
The same UN that wants us in the Kyoto Accord,
What have they planned now and what’s their next reward?

Are changes pending or should the UN be shut down?
Are we compelled to listen and wait for their next clown?
What has time and the lack of conclusion done for us all?
Is there a date and time for this Roman Empire to fall?
