An Appointment to High Places
An Appointment to High Places
By
James Bredin
Toronto based economic consultants by the score,
Advisors to phony pious politicians galore,
Appointed to advisory groups to give advice,
No wonder Toronto is overtaxed and overpriced?
I want to be appointed to some Advisory Board,
Then I’ll know for sure that I’ve really scored,
Because like other appointees I can just pretend,
Their communist ideas are so easy to defend.
And socialist politicians will call me an expert,
Look around and watch for those who are easy to convert,
Phoney title in front of and letters after my name,
And everyone will have to listen to what I proclaim.
I could go on TV and say I want to help the poor,
Maybe send some soldiers over to help those in Darfur,
Proclaim that street people wouldn’t steal a thing,
Nor would panhandlers or drug addicts flying on one wing.
Open the prison gates and let the prisoners out,
Cops put their Charter Rights and human rights in doubt,
I could travel the world and use any excuse I like,
March in the gay parade dressed up like a dyke.
